News: Koch Records Changes Name, Canadian-Based Company Thinks Globally

Independent record label Koch Records, where Jim Jones was recently named VP, has changed its name to E1 Music.

According a press release, Koch Records has already begun to operate under a new name.

KOCH Records is changing its name to E1 Music effective immediately. E1 Entertainment, the Canadian parent company of KOCH, has announced the transition in an effort to put all of its subsidiaries under one global banner. (Press Release)

Earlier this month, ByrdGang leader Jim Jones was appointed Vice President of Urban A&R at Koch.

KOCH Records announces the addition of Hip Hop superstar Jim Jones to its Executive staff. Jones joins the team as Vice President of Urban A&R. Under this new title, Jones will be responsible for signing and nurturing new talent to KOCH Records' urban roster. (MSNBC)

In addition, Koch Entertainment, now known as E1 Entertainment, recently signed five new hip-hop labels to distribution deals.

Koch Entertainment has just inked five labels, whose collective roster includes such rap acts as Bun B and his Middle Fingaz crew, MJG from veteran Memphis duo 8 Ball and MJG and former Ultramagnetic MC Kool Keith. (XXL)
