Rap star Common recently took to his personal blog to ring in the new year and promise upcoming projects for 2009.

Continuing to add more clips to his vlog, the Chicago-bred emcee announced his return from a slight vacation and the mark of a "divine" year.

"What's going on, it's 2009, it's the first time I got to do a video blog in a minute," Common said. "I had a great ending of the year but now it's a new time. All gon' be divine in 2009."
While keeping details to a minimum, the rapper-turned-actor revealed his intent to prepare a variety of projects despite recently releasing his new album Universal Mind Control just last month.

"Change is coming," he added. "I'm gonna be working on new music, new films, new things going down. So y'all make sure you just keep staying in tune. Love."

In related news, the "Wanted" movie star recently spoke with SOHH to describe his placement in hip-hop and what the future holds for him.

"It feels like each time there's a new album, it's a new beginning," Common told SOHH. "God willing, you'll get albums nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen. I feel like a jazz musician in many ways and I wanna keep creating music. I feel like I want to be doing shows when I'm sixty something."
