Former Murder Inc. rapper Charli Baltimore recently addressed Lil' Kim's claims that she was more than Notorious B.I.G.'s side girl.
Charli says it was her relationship with B.I.G. that went beyond the recording studio.
"Kim goes out of her way to say she was B.I.G.'s girl," Charli said in an interview. "No, Kim wasn't his girl. Straight up! She wasn't. She benefited from the situation because she became Lil Kim. She has a career and she's grateful to a n*gga for helping her in that aspect, but she was never his girl...B.I.G. and I were together. He bought me a car. I mean n*ggas wasn't doing stuff for no reason. It was no game!" (Hip Hop Gossip Site)
Lil' Kim has denied these allegations of being a "jump-off," which is how she says she was portrayed in Biggie's biopic, Notorious.
"I feel like I was not portrayed how I should have been in this movie. I was in love with BIG and he was in love with me. I was never a JUMP-OFF, I know this and BIG knew this," Kim said in a statement. " I love BIG and will never stop reppin him. There is NOTHING anyone can do about it. The world will see the Lil Kim story, THE REAL ME! Not some made up bullsh*t portrayed by a talentless has-been back up singer." (Bossip)
Biggie is reportedly responsible for jump-starting Charli's music career in the mid-90s.
Baltimore popped up in a Notorious B.I.G. video, prompting many to wonder how personal their professional relationship was. Biggie made her the front woman in the Commission, which was to star Biggie Smalls and Jay-Z. But before this side project could take off, Wallace was gunned down. Charli Baltimore went solo and recorded the hit track "Money," which appeared on the Woo soundtrack. Baltimore's debut album, Cold As Ice was supposed to be released on Lance 'Un' Rivera's Epic/Untertainment Records in early 1999, but was eventually shelved due to creative differences between Baltimore and the record label.
