T.I. has reportedly been assigned federal agents to keep a close watch on him during the upcoming New Year's Eve festivities.

According to the New York Post, the self-proclaimed "King of the South" will have two trained agents standing guard while he performs at Miami's Gansevoort South Florida venue next week.

Tip is scheduled to help bring in the new year at the forthcoming New Year's party hosted by Boys Don't Cry actress Chloe Sevigny but will reportedly be monitored throughout the entire event.

Since pleading guilty to felony weapons charges in 2007, the Grammy winning rapper is reportedly unable to travel outside the state of Georgia without encountering federal security to monitor him. He is scheduled to report to jail to serve a one year sentence in the coming year.

In related news, Tip and Ludacris are both scheduled to perform on "NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly" special next week.

Both emcees will help headline Carson Daly's annual ceremony alongside performers like "I Kissed A Girl" singer Katy Perry as they ring in 2009.

"New Year's Eve with Carson Daly" is scheduled to air live Wednesday, December 31 beginning at 10 p.m. EST
