R&B superstar Rihanna has been selected to perform at next month's Presidential Inauguration Charity Ball in Washington, DC.
According to People, the Grammy winning singer's presence at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) event supporting President-elect Barack Obama will also help provide food for millions of people across the nation.
"We could not be happier that Rihanna will be performing at the Inauguration charity ball to benefit Feeding America," FA president Vicki Escarra told People. "Rihanna's involvement will help raise awareness about the prevalence of hunger in America and help bring more aid to the 36 million Americans who do not always know where they will find their next meal."
Along with Rihanna, other performers are set to be in the nation's capitol on Inauguration night including Beyonce, T.I., Ludacris, T-Pain, Fantasia and more.
The upcoming event takes place Tuesday, January 20 in Washington, DC.
In related news, the singer and her boyfriend Chris Brown was recently sued for $1 million by a photographer claiming he was beaten up and robbed by the couple's bodyguards in Florida last May.
As of now, no court date or settlement has been announced.
