News: 50 Cent Unveils New Video Game, "GTA IV" Wins Big At Gaming Awards

Spike TV's sixth annual "Video Games Awards" ceremony took place last night (December 14) showing recognition to the year's best releases and offering fans memorable appearances from 50 Cent, LL Cool J and more.


Hosted by comedian Jack Black, the yearly event kicked off at Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, California awarding various video games and companies in a variety of categories.

Known for incorporating popular hip-hop radio personalities in the Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto series, GTA IV: Liberty City took home the most awards including "Best Action Adventure Game," "Studio of the Year," "Best Performance By A Human Male" and "Best Game of the Year."

The game features vocal contributions from DJ Green Lantern, Daddy Yankee, DJ Premier, Mister Cee and more.

Another popular winner was Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots which easily won ""Best Performance By A Human Female," "Best Original Score" and "Best Graphics." MTV Games' Rock Band 2 won "Best Music Game" and "Best Soundtrack" while Gears of War 2 snagged "Best Shooter" and "Best X-Box 360 Game."

Acting as the ceremony's exclusive music provider, Interscope Geffen A&M showcased performances by the All-American Rejects and Weezer. Fans were also given a sneak peek at 50's upcoming Blood in the Sand video game as clips were played while he performed "Get Up."
