News: Will Smith's Son Tapped For "Karate Kid" Re-Make

Will Smith's son Jaden, has been chosen to star in the upcoming 1984 re-make of The Karate Kid.
According to Variety,
the 10 year-old will follow in his father's movie acting footsteps as
he takes on another big screen role portraying a youth learning to
stand up for himself with the help of a trained martial arts mentor.
While the Columbia Pictures project is still being penned by Chris Murphy,
it is scheduled to begin filming next year in Beijing and other foreign
cities unlike the original which took place in the United States.
Produced by the franchise's originator, Jerry Weintraub, the film will also feature production by Smith, James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz.
Jaden made his big screen debut alongside his father in The Pursuit of Happyness and will be seen in the upcoming flick, The Day the Earth Stood Still. He is also known for his interest in martial arts.
No projected release date has been announced as of yet.
