Super producer Timbaland will make his Hollywood debut by beginning work on the upcoming film, Vinyl.
According to Billboard, Timbo's Mosley Media Group has gotten behind Effie T. Brown's
Duly Noted, Inc. to help produce a movie based on five young women who
are met with life-altering decisions dealing with their relationships
with members of a rock group.
Written and directed by Richard Zelniker, Tim's wife Monique Idlett-Mosely and Brown will be producing as the platinum-selling artist steps behind the scenes to executive produce the film.
Vinyl is expected to begin filming spring 2009.
In related news, Timbo has kept busy lately by working with various acts including Seattle Rock veteran Chris Cornell on his latest release, Scream.
The award winning producer has joined forces with the former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman
to find his more soulful side. Unlike the rocker's typical guitar-laced
records, Timbo's influence will reportedly give the project a more Gnarls Barkley touch.
Aside from contributing to the beats, Tim will also join Cornell on two of the tracks.
Timbo has also been working on R&B singer Keri Hilson's debut album In a Perfect World.
Signed to his Mosley Music label, Hilson has utilized Tim's production
talent on various tracks and is also set to feature production from
other producers including Polow Da Don.
In a Perfect World is currently slated to hit retail stores in 2009.
