After giving fans an electrifying performance alongside his Lox crew at New Jersey's Powerhouse concert last week, SOHH caught up with Styles P to see what's good with his upcoming CD/DVD combo Phantom Gangster Chronicles, Volume 1.
Styles' new album will be hitting stores on November 11th and the Yonkers-bred rapper is bringing some of the top entertainers in the industry along for the ride on his accompanying video.
"I got Jim Jones on the DVD, Fat Joe, E-40, Idris Elba, Baron Davis, Young Jeezy," Styles told SOHH. "And we just gettin' in to some sh*t that I think people need to hear."
Uninspired
from the typical independent projects by rappers offering the same
flashy cars and jewelery, the Ghost is using this opportunity to shed
light on what really goes on in the entertainment world.
"This
is just the chance to just see real life sh*t in the industry instead
of all this other sh*t you used to seeing on these DVDs and the same
old footage and same old sh*t you hear," he promised. "You gonna hear
in-depth sh*t about how people make their money, how they spend their
money, how they use some of their influences in life."
Making
his forthcoming package more original and diverse, Styles even added a
health-based aspect to the DVD but promises fans can still look forward
to hearing that "street sh*t" when they pop in the mixtape portion.
"We
got a section about eating good," Styles added. "[There's] a section
about exercising. So what you're expecting is some real, real footage.
As far as the mixtape, you can expect some real street sh*t, you know,
just going in."
Not
stopping here, the rapper also plans to put down the microphone and sit
in the director's chair trying his hand in the movie business.
"I think I'll be going out to Hollywood
probably around January or February or so," he added. "Not just acting
either, I'm trying to direct and write and all of that. I'm open to
everything, man."
Phantom Gangster Chronicles, Volume 1 is currently scheduled to hit retail stores on Tuesday, November 11 via Koch/D-Block Records.
