News: Rihanna Cancels Performance In Indonesia
Thursday, Nov 13, 2008 12:00PM

R&B superstar Rihanna has decided to cancel a sold-out concert tomorrow (November 13) in Indonesia over security issues.
According to the Associated Press,
the mega singer was set to perform in front of over 6,000 fans but made
a last minute choice to withdraw from the venue while in Australia.
Although
no official explanation has been announced yet, various surrounding
countries, including Australia, have issued a travel advisory to
Indonesians due to the previous weekend executions of three Islamic
militants tried in the 2002 Bali bombings, which likely caused the
cancellation.
Further
concern has developed as officials have belief that the deceased men
had told their followers to offer vengeance attacks if they were
killed.
Dive Purnomo, a spokeswoman for the event organizer, hopes Rihanna will make a return sometime in January.
In related news, video footage recently made its way onto the net, showing Rihanna abruptly leaving the stage during a show in Sydney, Austrailia. There has been no official word on the reason for her leaving but she has since recovered.
