Platinum-selling singer Akon has teamed with MySpace to give fans the chance to see him perform live in New York City for free next week.
Presented by MySpace Music, the free event will exclusively allow users of the mega social network access to enter the Big Apple's popular China Club venue if they are over 21 and come prepared with a print-out of their profile with Akon in their Top 8.
Hosted by radio personality Cipha Sounds, the live show will also feature special guest Shontelle as fans are encouraged to arrive early with the first come, first serve entry.
The performance is scheduled to take place Monday, December 1 at 8 p.m. in Manhattan.
In related news, Akon's top artist T-Pain recently released his new album Thr33 Ringz last week coming in at No. 4 on Billboard's Top 200. Speaking with SOHH, Akon spoke on Pain's recent success.
"Me, I'm the trainer and the manager," Kon told SOHH. "I will book the show and T-Pain will lead the rings. He leads the ring period. I just overlook the tent. I put the tent up and then I allow you to go in there and showcase your art."
Akon also promised there were no ego or jealousy issues between himself and his artists.
"I know my place, they know they place and that's why we are successful and we continue to move forward," he added. "One thing I'm never going to do is try to jump in front of his shine."
Akon's new album Freedom is scheduled to hit stores Tuesday, December 2.
