"Rich is a class act, he got [NBA legend] Bill Russell
what else can I say," Ross said in a statement. "It's his integrity
that got me involved, I'm a business man. Rich is a business man. They
got some big ideas over there, we even talking about a huge public
signing event in Dade County real soon; I do it big!"
Admitting
the growth of hip-hop has struck his attention, Altman based his
decision to work with the rapper due to Ross' own sports collection.
"Rick
is an avid sports memorabilia collector, during one of his trips into
the store we struck up a conversation about creating a new market for
hip-hop collectibles," Atlman revealed in a statement. "Within a couple
weeks we had an agreement in place and started signing. Rick is the
consummate professional and we are excited to be involved and proud
that Rick selected us to be the exclusive distributor of his
autograph."
Aiming
to allow fans the chance to to have their choice of personalized items
from hip-hop stars, the company's custom framed 8x10 photos start out
around $149.
Known primarily for their sports collectibles from past major athletes like Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle to today's Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade, the company will begin to pursue a larger hip-hop audience with the introduction of Ross' new line of memorabilia.
