Continuing to build anticipation for his forthcoming album, Eminem premiered a new freestyle and revealed details on his comeback disc during a release party for his book The Way I Am on Wednesday (October 15).
In support of the book, which details his personal life, the mega-star threw a special event at a secret location in New York City where he unveiled a freestyle titled "I'm Having A Relapse." Falling just below two minutes, the extracted verse reminds Em's core audience of his witty wordplay and promises a return as the chorus chants "Guess who's back?"
"How the h*ell did he manage to get more felony charges/he's already got life in jail, man/what the h*ell is his problem/well to be honest, the smell of these chronic leaves make me hella demonic..." [Listen Here ]
The verse offers listeners a dark and playful mind set for Em showing that despite not releasing a solo effort since 2004's Encore, he is preparing to come back strong with his fifth solo project, titled Relapse.
Showing fans a deeper side of himself, his book, will chronicle parts of his life in his own words, feature original handwritten lyric sheets from some of his hit songs, show original artwork drawn by Em and provide some unreleased photos from throughout his career.
It will also allow fans the opportunity to understand his inner thoughts as he reveals personal struggles, trials of being famous and his strong relationship with his daughter, Hailie.
The Way I Am will hit bookshelves on Tuesday, October 21.
As of today, no official release date has been announced for Relapse. Yet, as previously reported by SOHH, more details have begun to arise as fellow Detroit rapper Trick Trick hinted at what people may expect from the upcoming album.
"Everybody gets it. No one is safe," Trick told Detroit News. "He is showing no mercy. Slim Shady is a (13-letter curse word), and he's back."
