News: 50 Cent Joins Mickey Rourke In New Crime Thriller

Platinum-selling rapper 50 Cent has been tagged to star in director Gela Babluani's upcoming movie 13.
According to Variety, the G-Unit leader will be joined by a stellar cast that includes actors Mickey Rourke and The Transporter action star Jason Statham. The film will be a remake of Babluani's Sundance-winning French version called 13 Tzameti.
The English-spoken feature will center on a man who willingly steals an unknown package that is expected to pay out a fortune in the end.
Details are still arising on whether or not other elements from the original will resurface which follows a young character called "Sebastian" on his path to an underworld of mental chaos where men gamble upon the lives of other men.
13 will begin shooting November 17 in the New York City area.
In related news, 50 is also preparing to release his highly anticipated album Before I Self Destruct which also features a bonus full length feature film, of the same name, based on the album's material.
"My film captures the harsh realities that reflect so many communities today," 50 previously said in a statement. "There will be some who will greatly identify with the characters and the situations presented and then there will be others who may be shocked that the struggles that go on in the inner. I made the film for both groups"
Aside from making his directorial debut behind the camera, 50 will also star in the movie.
Before I Self Destruct is slated to hit store shelves on Tuesday, December 9.
