Ne-Yo is a little more paid in full thanks to being bounced from R. Kelly's tour last year. According to E! Online a Los Angeles judge has ordered Kelly's promoter to pay Ne-Yo $700,320 for the suit the Def Jam singer, born Shaffer Smith filed last December. In the suit Ne-Yo alleges that he was bounced from the Double Up tour because his opening performance received a better reaction from fans and critics than Kelly's.
Superior Court Judge Malcolm Mackey made his default judgment after Georgia-based Rowe Entertainment refused to respond to the lawsuit. Ne-Yo was supposed to earn $785,000 on the 25-date tour, but was dropped by Rowe after the second show on Nov. 15 and only received a fraction of the contracted amount. The promoter previously blamed Ne-Yo's camp for not completing the proper paperwork.
Rebel Talking… I guess this time it's the Pied Piper gotta pay.
Paparazzo be forewarned, don't ask Chris Brown about plans to work with the Jonas Brothers, or anyone else. He may have some not so nice things to insinuate about your moms. TMZ paps approached the R&B heartthrob to probe further into the Jonas Brother's rumor and brown responded accordingly, "I'm doing something with your mom." Click to watch.
Rebel Talking… Be very careful Chris, that's definitely no way for R&B's golden boy to act, especially when you already have a rep with older women.
Sweatin' With the Oldies
Fans of Janet Jackson are in for a double dose of rock hard abs – the pop singer has announced plans to have rap icon LL Cool J join her on the upcoming "Rock Witchu" tour. Miss Jackson broke the news via her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri's YouTube blog. She also revealed the addition of a Madison Square Garden date being added to the tour schedule before kicking the diminutive mogul out of her backstage area. Click here to watch.
Rebel Talking… Would it be mean for me to call this tour a social security convention? It's not too late to change the name to "Rocker Witchu".
Chant Down Babylon
Britain's favorite cracked out singer is seeking a religious remedy to her chemical dependency. According to UK's The Sun Amy Winehouse has turned to Buddhism in an effort to rid herself of drugs and alcohol. A source told The Sun that Amy was inspired by a bandmate who insisted the religion would put the singer back on the right path.
"One of her musicians introduced Amy to Buddhist chanting. She chants for ten minutes in the morning and just before she sleeps. Amy has also been watching the interview clip of Tina Turner on YouTube and she reckons it's already affecting her in a positive way."
Rebel Talking… If Buddhism helped Tina kick Ike to the curb maybe it will help Amy kick her habit too – but something tells me Amy's chants probably include a couple extra four-letter words.
