1. No Love Lost
Teairra Mari officially launched her comeback journey with a new sexy spread in this month's KING magazine. The former Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam singer shows off her ass-ets in KING, while revealing her feelings about ex-boss Jay-Z and past label mate Rihanna.
"I was calling Jay my father. I love you like my father because my father is not in my life. Jay didn't even call and tell me [I was dropped]. I was hurt."
She also talks about Lil' Wayne.
"He's a good friend; we've hung out a couple of times. I was attracted to him for a second, but then it grew into a nice friendship. He's a charmer, like an old-school kind of guy."
And when the subject turned to Rihanna, Teairra got downright catty.
Teairra took offense to some comments Rihanna made to Atlanta's Peach magazine regarding her dismissal from the Roc. Rihanna said, "You have to be good to people. I could very easily say its all karma…"
"They asked her how she felt playing second fiddle to me, which I never felt [she was]. She had the number-one song in the country on Hot 100; I didn't, so she couldn't be playing second fiddle to me. When I heard that I was upset, like, ‘Why would she ever go there? Keep my name out your mouth, sweetie."
Rebel Talking: Hmm. So she called Jay "daddy" but he didn't call to tell her they were breaking up. Seems like he was a different kind of daddy. And Rihanna better watch her back.
2. Kick In The Door
In her new book Keep The Faith, Faith Evans reveals that she had quite the violent side while married to Notorious B.I.G. During her tumultuous marriage to the Brooklyn bad boy, Faith often resorted to pulverizing chicks for creeping with her husband – in the following excerpt she reveals that one of her victims was the Queen Bee herself.
"As soon as I saw a small lump next to Big's large frame, I flew into a rage, ran over to the side of the bed, and pulled back the covers. I grabbed some chick our of the bed and started beating her ass. At some point, the chick's wig came off in my hand; It was a short, cropped wig. I stopped throwing punches for a minute to get a good look at the chick I was beating up. It was Lil Kim. She was completely butt-naked, yelling as I pushed her around the room.
'So you not f*cking her, right? I screamed at Big. Yeah, you not messing with her anymore, right?'
When they heard all the commotion, Cease, D-Roc, and Gutter came running into the room. ‘Oh sh*t!" they yelled in unison. 'It's Faye! How the hell she get in here?'
Big sat up in bed and pointed at Kim, who was standing in a corner of the room, trying to cover her naked body with her hands while I was still yelling at Big. ‘Yo, get her outta here,' Big said. They led Kim out of the room and she screamed and cursed the whole way."
Rebel Talking… It's a damn shame Lil' Kim didn't write her book first – she might have been able to take some of the sting out of Faith's revelation. Oh and Faith, while you have our attention, this would be the time to drop a new album.
3. One Love
Haitian American producer and singer Wyclef Jean has found new inspiration in tennis superstar Venus Williams. After the two were paired in an episode of the Sundance Channel's "Iconoclasts," The former Fugees frontman was so enamored with the tennis great that he wrote a song for her called "Venus (I'm Ready)" as her personal anthem.
"Venus' determination and mental strength inspires me!" Wyclef said about the recent Olympic gold medal winner. "Much like Isis, her strength should be celebrated."
Venus seems similarly taken with the charming musician, responding,
"I was so happy to meet Wyclef and work with him on our ‘Iconoclasts' episode, but not even in my wildest imagination, did I expect that such a beautiful song would be one of the outcomes from meeting Wyclef. He is an amazing human being and it is truly an honor for me to be recognized in such a wonderful way by such a gifted musician and exceptional person."
Rebel Talking… She's got it! Oh baby she's got it! I know Venus is glad to finally have a new song with her name in it. I'm sure she's sick of Bananarama's "Venus" by now.
4. Brother's Keeper
The internet has been going nuts all week over a video of K-Ci and Jo-Jo performing in Australia, where, during their final song, "All My Life," Jo-Jo collapses in the middle of the stage, while K-Ci continues to sing and security stands by watching. Since rumors of hard drug use have followed the talented brothers for years, bloggers immediately speculated that drugs and/or alcohol were to blame. In attempt to clear up those rumors K-Ci allowed an interview with "Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg on Hot 97 New York City that came off nearly as bizarre as the incident itself. [Listen here]
