Rapper 50 Cent will finally be able to reconnect with his son as a Long Island judge has allowed him an unrestricted visit next month.
According to TMZ, 50 and his son's mother Shaniqua Tompkins were scheduled to appear in family court this morning. Prior to their entrance, the judge forced each party to take a drug test in which 50 tested clean while Tompkins tested positive for cough medication.
The judge allowed 50 to visit Marquise from August 3-12.
Although he has not told the media when he last saw his son, 50 explained his importance.
"I haven't seen him in a while," he said outside the courthouse. "That's why I came here today for."
Despite ruling in 50's favor for visitation, Tompkins still maintains full custody of their child.
When asked if she trusts her former boyfriend she responded, "No, not at all. Not in any way." She went on to say, "Mr. Jackson has always talked negative about me."
Prior to today's ruling, Tompkins tried getting 50's lawyer Bret Kimmel off the case claiming it created a conflict of interest. However, a judge ruled in the rapper's favor as he was allowed to keep his current lawyer.
Both parties are expected back in court on September 14.
