Alicia Keys puts her assassin skills to work for another film, but this time she's just murdering tracks. After rumors that Amy Winehouse or Leona Lewis might provide the theme song for the latest James Bond film, a Columbia Pictures press release has confirmed the As I Am songstress is slated to record the Quantum of Solace theme alongside The White Stripes' Jack White. The two will make history with "Another Way to Die," which is the first duet for a Bond film.
Rebel Talking… That's what I call killing the competition – I guess Alicia showed them British chicks whose running things.
First Lady of Style
Even if she isn't the one running for President, Michelle Obama has Vanity Fair's vote. Barack Obama's wife tops this list of Vanity Fair's 2008 Best Dressed list, with the magazine dubbing her "our commander-in-sheath."
The senator's better half beat out fashionistas like Sarah Jessica Parker and Ivanka Trump to win this year's top honors.
Rebel Talking… And they said nobody could fill Jackie O's shoes – say it with me now "Yes She Can."
Humping Her Lumps
Rocking daisy dukes and nursing a past meth addiction apparently weren't white trash enough for Fergie, who is now taking a turn at turning tricks in an upcoming film role. According to the Associated Press the female Black Eyed Pea is putting that P to work as Saraghina for the film version of the Tony Award winning musical Nine alongside Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench and Kate Hudson. The role requires Fergalicious to sing the song "Be Italian" with the character Guido, who is played by Daniel Day-Lewis.
"She's basically a prostitute on the beach," Fergie said. "She introduces him to the world of sexuality. It's a very strong song. I'm just thrilled I get to play a character."
Filming starts in October. Fergie has previously appeared in Poseidon and Grindhouse.
Rebel Talking… I love her to death but something tells me this part isn't much of a stretch.
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actress Tatyana Ali struck a few poses for the latest issue of King magazine where she also discussed her upcoming film role alongside Tyson Beckford, her second album, The Light, and volunteering for Barack Obama. Here's a few choice quotes:
On Black Hollywood…
"It's kind of like the Wild West out there, and not just for black Hollywood. In a traditional sense, things look bad—there are people out of work, shows aren't going up and a lot of films aren't being made, because of the fear of actors going on strike. But I think it's a real fertile time to stake your claim. With things up in the air, it creates new space for people who are trying to break through, business-wise."
On her new album…
I found my voice with this album, The Light. I can never stop singing. Remember, I recorded my first album [1998's Kiss the Sky, MJJ Music] when I was 16, and other people wrote most of the songs. I really wanted the next album that I did to express who I am. And the only way I can do that is to write it myself. So in that sense, I found my voice.
Rebel Talking… Posing for King magazine!!! Tsk tsk Ashley, What would Uncle Phil say???
