Atlanta’s 2 Chainz recently discussed his chemistry alongside frequent collaborator Nicki Minaj and how the self-proclaimed “Barbie” is much more than your average femcee.
Despite her animated and playful persona, Chainz acknowledged how much respect she expects.
“She’s like six people,” Deuce said in reaction to Nick’s question, pointing out her multiple voice changes. “Nicki is out there, and she’s definitely more than a rap artist,” he said of his collaborator and friend. “I learned that going on tour with her. She’s definitely a lady. She demands respect when she hits the room, but she crazy as h*ll. I mean, who didn’t know that?” (MTV)
Recently, the female rap star admitted her mentor Lil Wayne said she no longer needed his guidance.
“I usually pick the beat when me and Wayne do something,” she said, explaining how her freestyle came together for the tape. “I went to Miami and I started grilling him like, ‘Hey, why don’t you lecture me anyone?’ and he says, ‘you made it already I ain’t got to tell you sh–. … We had this crazy little spat — I actually got on footage and I’ll show the fans really soon. But he’s working on the mixtape and I said, ‘Excuse me, I need to be on that mixtape,’ and he said, ‘Aight, whatever you wanna do.’ So I just went into the other room and recorded on this particular beat that I’m sure my fans are gonna be very happy that I touched. I’m really excited for the kids to hear.” (MTV)

Keeping busy these days with music-making and acting, Minaj recently revealed plans to launch her own clothing line.
“The other day, me and Wayne were bashing each other. He was telling me that my clothing line better not copy off of his clothing line. And I was like, “Excuse me?” And he was just like bragging about his clothing line is at Macy’s and we were just cracking up laughing. It’s like, I’m so super proud of this man. I feel like there’s nothing he can’t do. Everything he does, he wins at it. His clothing line – my guy friends, you know, are already rocking Trukfit. It’s interesting because things really happen overnight nowadays but, best believe, when my clothing line comes, I’m going to blow him out the park and he’s probably going to be coming asking me for a job. [laughs]” (Rolling Stone)
