2 Chainz Apologizes To Drake, Explains OVO Fest No-Show

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz has stepped up to clear the air on missing his slated OVO Fest performance this week and assured fans outside factors contributed to the no-show.

Chainz hopped onto his Twitter page and revealed what kept him from not appearing at Drizzy’s fourth annual concert.

“Dear Toronto, u guys r beautiful people here, but the over exaggerated harassment, kept me for 2hrs,& I missed OVO. Apologies to @Drake & fans,” Chainz tweeted August 6. (2 Chainz’s Twitter)

While Deuces could not come through, Drake managed to treat fans to an unexpected Kanye West performance.

Drake’s annual OVO Fest is tonight in Toronto, and naturally he’s brought some special guests. Though some have inferred from Drake’s recent lyrics about “your new sh*t,” that some subliminal shots are being thrown at the one and only Kanye West. Whether or not such is the case, the pair of superstar rappers make a move tonight that will silence all speculation, if at least only for a moment, taking the same stage in Toronto. After bringing a number of other stars, including The Weeknd, Big Sean, French Montana, TLC and Wale, Drake brought out Kanye West. (Complex)

The concert also reunited Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy with Ma$e.

J. Cole and Miguel (the latter co-headlining a fall tour with Drake) swooned female fans with radio hits “Power Trip” and “Adorn” before the rapper-singer went into an acoustic cover of “I Get Lonely Too.” The moment lead into an appearance from TLC, who did a medley of “Fanmail,” “Waterfalls” (with Lil’ Mama), and “Scrubs.” After taking fans back to his early hits such as “Successful,” “Best I Ever Had,” “Forever,” and “Over,” it was time for a rare reunion as Diddy and Ma$e joined together on stage for the first time in years. The duo showed their chemistry of the 90s as they ran through No. 1 hits “Victory,” “Feel So Good,” “Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems,” and “All About the Benjamins.” (Miss Info TV)

Maybach Music Group leader Rick Ross even applauded the rapper for paving a lane with his star-studded event.

“Salute mybrother @Drake on a classic hip hop moment #ovo,” Ross tweeted August 6. (Rick Ross’ Twitter)
